Austin Rowing Club

Austin Rowing Club is a nonprofit dedicated to the belief that the sport of rowing provides unique opportunities to promote personal and community growth through teamwork, discipline and physical fitness. Since its inception, ARC’s mission has been to foster the sport of rowing by making rowing accessible and diverse without regard to individual ability, financial means or experience.

Austin Rowing Club is Austin’s oldest and only nonprofit rowing club. The first Austin Rowing Club was founded in 1893 and staged several international regattas before the floods of 1900 washed away the dam that had created Lake McDonald, similar to the present day incarnation of Lady Bird Lake. The current Austin Rowing Club (ARC) was formed in 1981 and currently resides in the Waller Creek Boathouse at 74 Trinity Street. ARC also hosts and runs 2 nationally recognized USRowing sanctioned regattas on Lady Bird Lake.
