TAMPA HILLSBOROUGH HOMELESS INITIATIVE

TAMPA, Florida

Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative (THHI) is designated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of Florida to serve as the lead entity on the issue of homelessness for Tampa and Hillsborough County. THHI focuses on developing strategies to reduce homelessness by developing resources, collaboration and innovation. Key initiatives include the annual Homeless Point-In-Time Count and Operation: REVEILLE (Veterans). Future initiatives will include: The BEACH Project (chronic), A Place to Call Home (families), Team Up to End Youth Homeless (youth), Taking Outreach to the Streets (unsheltered).

Homelessness is unacceptable in Hillsborough County.

Since the annual Homeless Point-In-Time Count in 2014, homelessness has decreased in our community:
-Overall homelessness decreased by 20%
-Veteran homelessness decreased by 27%
-Chronic homelessness decreased by 35%
-Street homelessness decreased by 48%.
