OPERATION SANTA CHARITIES INC

Operation Santa Charities Inc was founded in 2014 by Members of VFW Post 12002 to facilitate receiving donations from corporations who can only give to 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. The signature philanthropic activity of the Charity is 'Operation Santa', the purchase of 'targeted' Christmas presents for the children of Georgia Troops deployed overseas during the Winter Holidays. The driving force behind this activity, the Charity, and the 'Freedom Fighters Open' fundraiser was Christian O. Stevens, a former Army Ranger who was tragically killed in a skydiving accident in February of 2020.

Our primary fundraising vehicle is the 'Freedom Fighters Open', a Golf Tournament (and more), held each year on the Friday before Veterans Day. While the majority of the net proceeds are used to fund 'Operation Santa', this income is also used to support the families of underemployed Georgia National Guard and Reserve members, and the Community Service Programs of local Veteran Service Organizations.

The Charity's Board of Directors is currently composed of 6 Members of Post 12002, a brother of Christian O. Stevens, a State First Responder, and a Georgia businessman with executive management experience in educational foundations.
