PROJECT PAWS ALIVE INC

Project Paws Alive (PPAK9) is a nationwide 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2012 by law enforcement veterans who saw a critical gap: most departments simply do not have the budget to properly equip their K9 units. PPAK9 closes that gap by providing professional-grade protective equipment at no cost to qualifying Law Enforcement, Fire, Search & Rescue, EMS, and Military K9 units nationwide.

Equipment provided includes NIJ- and NIPS-certified ballistic protective vests (average $1,400 each), K9 first aid field trauma kits, K9 NARCAN kits for opioid exposure protection, vehicle heat alarm systems, and pet oxygen recovery mask kits. Every item is purchased directly from licensed manufacturers, tested and certified to NIJ and NIPS standards, and provided only to agencies that applied and could not otherwise afford it.

PPAK9 currently has more than 400 agencies on its equipment waiting list. The organization holds GuideStar's Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest distinction awarded to only the top 1% of nonprofits, verified annually through auditing, financial reporting, and confirmed program results.

Donations fund specific equipment requests from verified first responder agencies. No equipment is purchased speculatively. Corporate and foundation donors can direct gifts toward a specific discipline, equipment type, or agency. Project Paws Alive, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
