Warrior Access Group’s Veteran Access & Community Connection Program removes barriers between veterans and the resources available to them. Veterans often face a fragmented network of healthcare, wellness, benefits, employment, education, peer support, and community services. Our role is to provide an accessible entry point where veterans can identify their needs, receive direct assistance when available, and connect with trusted organizations already providing valuable services.
The program combines veteran-to-veteran outreach, resource navigation, peer and community connection, education, direct veteran assistance, and partnerships with healthcare providers, nonprofits, veteran organizations, businesses, employers, and public agencies.
WAG’s model is designed to complement rather than duplicate existing veteran services. When another organization already provides the needed service, we help the veteran understand the resource, determine eligibility, make the connection, and overcome barriers that might otherwise prevent them from receiving assistance. When an unmet financial or access gap exists and resources are available, WAG can provide direct support.
Our initial pilot demonstrated the effectiveness of this approach. WAG directly funded medical evaluations and associated medical card costs for 15 Arizona veterans at no cost to them. Our first major community outreach effort brought together more than 120 participants, including approximately 40 veterans, and involved more than 25 local businesses, nonprofits, healthcare providers, veteran organizations, and community partners. Through our growing network and partnerships, WAG has already connected with and supported hundreds of veterans.
Donations to this project will help WAG expand direct veteran assistance, community outreach, resource navigation, peer connection, educational activities, program materials, and partnerships throughout Arizona. Our goal is simple: when a veteran needs help
