George Rogers Clark Memorial Marker

by NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The Indiana Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (INSSAR) has launched the George Rogers Clark Memorial Marker Project to honor the Revolutionary War patriots who fought and died during the pivotal Battle of Fort Sackville in 1779.

Located at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Vincennes, Indiana, this project seeks to raise $12,000 over the next two years to design, commission, and install a lasting granite marker. This monument will pay tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of the American patriots who played a vital role in securing the Northwest Territory for the young United States.

The marker will serve as a permanent educational and commemorative asset, helping to connect current and future generations to the founding story of our nation. By placing the memorial at this historic site—where George Rogers Clark’s forces triumphed against overwhelming odds—we aim to inspire civic pride, historical awareness, and patriotic reflection.

This project directly supports the charitable and historical mission of the Sons of the American Revolution to preserve American history, promote education, and recognize the men and women who helped establish the freedoms we enjoy today.

Your support will help us ensure that these Revolutionary War heroes are never forgotten.
