Pathfinder (Veteran Resource Navigation & Access)

Pathfinder is a resource navigation initiative developed by Veterans Resource & Support Task Force (VRSTF) to make it easier for veterans, service members, and military-connected families to find accurate, relevant, and trustworthy support.

Too often, people seeking help are given outdated phone numbers, broken links, incomplete directories, or referrals that send them from one organization to another without ever reaching the right service. Pathfinder is designed to reduce that frustration by creating a clearer, more reliable pathway to resources.

The project connects military-connected individuals with community-based and national resources related to housing, food access, health care, mental health, employment, education, financial assistance, family support, legal services, recreation, and other essential needs.

Pathfinder is built around a simple principle: finding help should not be harder than asking for it.

Support for Pathfinder helps VRSTF:

• Research and verify veteran and military resources
• Maintain accurate and current resource information
• Build and improve the Pathfinder resource platform
• Expand resource coverage into additional communities and regions
• Connect users with appropriate local and national services
• Develop partnerships with trusted providers and nonprofit organizations
• Identify gaps where existing resources are limited or unavailable
• Improve accessibility and ease of navigation for veterans and families
• Reduce unnecessary referrals and duplicated effort across service systems

Pathfinder is not intended to replace organizations already doing good work. Instead, it helps people find those organizations more quickly and helps strengthen the network connecting veterans, families, providers, and community partners.

As Pathfinder grows, VRSTF intends to expand its reach while maintaining a focus on verified, practical, and accessible information. By improving how military-connected individuals find support, we can reduce barriers, save time, and help people reach the right resource before a difficult situation becomes a crisis.

Contributions to Pathfinder support the development, maintenance, expansion, and ongoing verification required to keep the platform useful, accurate, and accessible.
