JACOBS LADDER THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER INC
HAHIRA, GeorgiaJacobs' Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. offers horseback riding and related equine assisted activities for children as young as 4 years old, through adults, who have special needs, by providing them an opportunity for growth, fun and interaction with horses. The involvement of a horse in a therapeutic environment enhances progress for many individuals, by allowing them physical activity, emotional attachment, interaction with others and a safe place to be themselves.
Jacobs' Ladder exists to serve individuals with special needs. Many of our riders are classified with learning disabilities and developmental delays, which may include those on the autism spectrum. Some people with cerebral palsy, after-stroke weakness, muscular dystrophy and other physical impairments may benefit from therapeutic riding. We evaluate each individual and work out a plan for their progress.
Our horses are carefully selected to meet the needs of different individuals. We have a large draft horse, for our heavier or bigger riders, many medium sized horses and a few ponies for our littlest riders. The movement of the horse is proven beneficial for the enhancement of the human gait.
