THEATRE OFF JACKSON

Theatre Off Jackson (TOJ) has been a working theater since 1987. Since then, it has developed a reputation for cutting-edge entertainment and a warm lively environment for both artists and patrons. It has also been influenced by the Northwest Asian American Theatre (NWAAT), which ceased operations in 2004. Afterwards, NWAAT’s veterans and board, in close consultation with the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority, developed a new producing model and business plan for TOJ that focused on managing a performing arts venue for independent groups and individual artists.

Theatre Off Jackson exists to advance Seattle’s vibrant artistic community. We accomplish this by operating a sustainable venue, facilitating a collaborative network for artists, and providing audiences with accessible, innovative work.
