Rotation Theatre Company is a Los Angeles–based company expanding access and opportunity for early-career artists through a model of creative rotation. In each production, performers, directors, writers, and producers take on new roles, building multihyphenate skills and gaining experience that is often inaccessible to young artists.
We currently produce 3–4 live theatrical shows per year throughout Los Angeles. Our seasons blend original works often written by emerging or first-time playwrights and reimagined productions of known plays using inclusive, age-blind, and gender-expansive casting. We also incorporate film elements, creating cinematic trailers and mixed-media marketing which set our productions apart from others.
Our long-term goal is to operate year-round, producing a consistent season that includes a straight play, a musical, an original works festival, and a Shakespeare production. As we grow, we aim to secure our own space that serves as a creative home for young artists: a place to rehearse, audition, collaborate, and access affordable classes in areas not widely available in Los Angeles, such as classical and Shakespeare training.
Rotation Theatre Company fills a key gap in the arts ecosystem by empowering early-career artists to become true multihyphenates. Our rotation model allows actors, directors, writers, and producers to step into one another’s roles, building cross-disciplinary skills and a deeper understanding of the creative process. By fostering accessibility and well-rounded artistic development, we help emerging artists gain the versatility needed to thrive in today’s industry.
