Bread & Roses has achieved over four decades of fighting hunger with effective, grassroots programs and the active fostering of an extensive supportive network. We leverage our extensive community network to connect people to food, essential items, health services, and other resources.

We do not accept any government funding which allows us to help all in need to access to our services free of charge - regardless their residential, legal, or income status.

One of our key programs is our Emergency Pantry. In October 2022, our pantry served just under 200 people. In October 2023, just our Emergency Pantry served nearly 10,000 people, an almost 5000% increase.

Even as our pantry grows, we know that the focus must be on continuing our spirit of dignity and respect. During this growth, we adopted a client choice model a.k.a. grocery store model, where guests choose their pantry items for themselves and their families, a more autonomous and dignified method.

We offer a variety of meal and outreach programs to support our community. We believe that everyone has a right to food. We value diversity and inclusion, and have made it an emphasis to have a majority bilingual staff to best serve our predominantly Latinx community.

We will continue to grow to meet the needs of our community, and are looking to move to a 5,000 square foot space that would better accommodate all of our programs.
